One of my greatest joys of today is to thank you for your leadership and outstanding service to our community. I am happy to announce that this year I am leading our community’s effort to establish an African Museum and Cultural Center in Miami Gardens with the development of the African Museum of Arts & Culture (AMAC) Center.
The city of Miami Gardens is one of the most culturally diverse cities in South Florida and we are aware of the significance of having the premier museum of African culture in Miami Dade County. An initiative of our Miami Dade County District 1 Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan and Miami Dade Board of County Commission, the AMAC center is a proposed 5-6 million dollar project that is expected to house the largest collection of indigenous African art and artifact outside of the African continent.
We are excited about the promise of the AMAC center for promoting tourism, international exchanges and economic growth and enrichment for our local community. We have planned our inaugural fundraising gala AMAC Night to be held on Saturday August 29th, 2015 (8:00 PM – 2:00 AM) at the Nine 0 One Event and Conference Center located at 901 NW 183rd Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33169.
As a life-long champion of cultural engagement and supporter of our community, we are requesting for you and your organization to serve as one of our corporate sponsors of this project (please see accompanying material for your preferred sponsorship level).
We have planned a very festive occasion highlighting the rich historical, cultural and political contributions of the African peoples to the Americas and the world. We do hope that your schedule would allow you to join us for this auspicious occasion.
I sincerely thank you for your exemplary leadership and we do commend you for your commitment and support of our community.
